Why I keep rebuilding my own tools

Most of what I've learned about agentic systems came from shipping things that broke in front of me, not from reading about them. Two of those things are Crossthreads and Headless_CRM.
The short version
Building your own tooling forces you to hold the whole failure surface in your head at once — cost, latency, retries, state, and the moment a model confidently does the wrong thing. You can't hand-wave any of it.
